Glossary
- Challenge
- A request by the batter, catcher, or pitcher to have a ball or strike call reviewed by the ABS system.
- Offensive Challenge
- The batting team challenging a called strike, hoping for it to be overturned to a ball.
- Defensive Challenge
- The fielding team challenging a called ball, hoping for it to be overturned to a strike.
- Overturned
- The on-field call was wrong; ABS reverses it. The challenging team retains the challenge.
- Confirmed
- The on-field call was right; ABS upholds it. The challenging team loses that challenge.
- Overturn %
- Share of a player or team's challenges that were overturned. Measures challenge accuracy.
- Overturned Against
- How many times an opponent successfully challenged a call involving this team.
- Net Overturns
- The team's overturns minus opponents' overturns against them. Captures both sides of the system.
